Tour one of the most iconic southern plantations in Louisiana.
Oak Alley Plantation is about an hour west of New Orleans, Louisiana. As you enter the plantation, you will notice the large oak trees growing on either side that provides a natural archway at the front of this historic site. This place features several educational exhibits, large gardens, a blacksmith shop, and an immaculate mansion. Several Hollywood films feature scenes at this location, including Midnight Bayou, Nightrider, Primary Colors, and more.
The Oak Alley Plantation is open for tours daily from 8:30 am to 5 pm. They recommend coming as early as possible if you want to avoid large crowds. Pricing varies depending on the kind of tour you're interested in, but expect to spend at least a couple of hours here.
