The second GRAMMY Museum built in the US captures the significance that music has had on the Mississippi Delta.
The GRAMMY Museum is located in Cleveland, Mississippi, and is one of four GRAMMY Museums in the country. This specific location was the first one to be constructed outside of California and it officially opened in 2016. The museum dives into the history of various music genres through eye-catching and intriguing exhibits, some of which are interactive and others that are only on display for a limited amount of time. Some of the exhibits include the History of the GRAMMY Awards, Iconic Instruments, Great GRAMMY Performances, and the Mississippi Gallery.
Music has helped mold Mississippi culture and holds so much historical significance. The GRAMMY Museum is somewhere you certainly don’t want to miss if you have a deep love and appreciation for music, but everyone can easily have a blast spending a few hours ambling through the displays here. The museum holds various events and programs throughout the year as well as specific group tours that offer exclusive access to some of the exhibits. The GRAMMY Museum is closed on Mondays, open from 10-5 from Tuesday to Saturday, and 12-3 on Sunday. Admission to the museum costs $14 for adults, $12 for seniors and military personnel, $8 for college students and those aged 5-18, and free for children under 5 and members.
