Enjoy scenic geological formations and stay in a rustic cabin in the hills of northeastern Arkansas.
Crowley's Ridge State Park is located in northeastern Arkansas. It features two lakes, a creek, and rustic cabins that allow visitors to reconnect with nature. One of the best sights is the Wishing Well Flume, accessible from the southern end of the Lake Ponder Trail. Lake Ponder Trail encircles the small lake and is an easy, unobstructed trail ideal for families with small children and anyone who wants to take a scenic stroll. The Dancing Rabbit Trail is the longest one in the park and features swinging bridges. This trail begins on the east side of the visitor center, and you won't get lost since the trail loops back around on itself.
Picnic areas are located around the northeastern region of Lake Ponder and are perfect for anyone that wants to eat a meal outside. Walcott Lake has a fishing pier and is a great place to watch shorebirds such as herons, kingfishers, various ducks, and more. This lake also has a viewing point where you can watch the local bat population from a distance. Crowley's Ridge State Park is one of the most family-friendly parks you will find because of all the easy paved trails nearby. Be sure to stop by the next time you're driving through northeastern Arkansas.
