Learn about the cultural heritage of America's Great Plains region.
The Museum of the Great Plains is located off Interstate 44, southwest of Oklahoma City. It features a massive gallery and informative exhibits depicting the history of the Native Americans and settlers of the Great Plains region. Historical artifacts they have on display include riding gloves, hats, shoes, saddles, paintings, beaded necklaces, spurs, farming equipment, railcars, and more. They have permanent and temporary exhibits, so every time you come, there will probably be something new to see.
This museum is open Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday from 1 pm to 5 pm. Tickets can only be purchased at the museum's front desk and they accept both cash and card. Admission is $10 per adult and $8 per child. Anyone interested in history will enjoy browsing through the Museum of the Great Plains.
