This state park is the ideal place to learn about Lyndon B. Johnson, the 36th president of the United States, as this is the site of his birthplace and where he spent the early years of his life.
Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site is located in Stonewall, Texas, and is a place that commemorates not only the life of the 36th president of the US, but it gives visitors a glance at what life is like on a Texas-German farm. LBJ was from this region of Texas, known as the Texas Hill Country, and the LBJ ranch is even situated here at the state park. There are 1.2 miles of hiking trails to explore, where guests can view the stunning and colorful flowers that scatter the landscape. You may even have the chance to see bison and longhorns!
There are over 730 acres to explore here at the LBJ State Park and Historic Site. Some other popular activities include fishing in the river, swimming in the pool that’s open during the summer, seeing the birthplace of LBJ, and strolling through the visitor center, which has memorabilia of LBJ’s and information about the land and souvenirs, too. The park is open from 8 to 4 every day, and entrance into the park is free.
