National Museum of the Pacific War

This museum is dedicated to preserving history and providing knowledge of World War II in the hometown of a vital Fleet Admiral.

The National Museum of the Pacific War is located in Fredericksburg, Texas, and is an ideal place to come learn about World War II and the many impacts it had on our country. The museum is situated here because Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz played an integral role during the war and spent his childhood in this town. There’s a variety of exhibits to explore at the museum, which really helps immerse each guest in the history of WWII.

Some of the exhibits to be found at the National Museum of the Pacific War include the Pearl Harbor Exhibit, the Doolittle Raid Exhibit, the Iwo Jima Exhibit, and the Medal of Honor Exhibit. The museum also sometimes has temporary exhibits, such as The Art of Fredericksburg: 175 Years exhibit, and outside, guests can see the Plaza of the Presidents, which pays tribute to the presidents that served during WWII. The National Museum of the Pacific War has done a wonderful job of preserving such important history and honoring those who sacrificed so much during this time. The museum is closed on Tuesdays, but is open from Wednesday to Monday from 9-5.
