Frontier Times Museum

This museum takes you back in to historical western times through a wide collection of artifacts important to this region and its community.

The Frontier Times Museum is a place to come explore and discover the history of Bandera, Texas, which is where this museum is established. The Frontier Times Museum is focused on educating the public about the culture and heritage of historic Texas and its cowboys. This museum has a rustic feel to it that will surely transport you back in time as your stroll through the various exhibits on display here. You’ll find that there’s an extremely wide variety of different artifacts showcased here, and the primary reason behind that is because of the museum founder’s belief that if an artifact was important to the donor, then it should be important to everyone.

The Frontier Times Museum has helped keep western traditions kept alive for more than 80 years now. Some of the display cases hold fossils, arrowheads, and there’s even a 2,000-year-old corn cob that was found and donated. There’s a section of the museum that acts as an art gallery, showcasing western art and a lot of pieces that were created by one of the former owners. There is much to observe here at the Frontier Times Museum, and there’s no question that you’ll leave here having learned a ton about the history of this captivating western region. The museum is open Monday through Saturday from 10 – 4:30, and it is closed on Sundays.
