At Enchanted Rock State Natural Area, guests can come enjoy all their favorite outdoor activities while surrounded by such remarkable views. Located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, Enchanted Rock State Natural Area is the ideal place to hike, camp, rock climb, bird, host a picnic, view wildlife, work on your photography skills, and stargaze. There are about 11 miles of hiking trails at this park that allow visitors to obtain wonderful vistas of the encompassing landscapes. Common wildlife sightings include rock and fox squirrels, rabbits, armadillos, lizards, and a variety of different birds.
Your eyes will immediately go to Enchanted Rock when you arrive here, which is a massive dome-shaped pink granite rock that towers over the area. There is truly something for everyone at this natural area. The only trail pets are allowed on is the Loop Trail, but they are also permitted in the designated day-use regions of the parks and the campgrounds, and they must always be leashed. There’s also a gift shop on-site if you’re looking for a fun souvenir to keep or gift to someone else. Enchanted Rock is also one of the best places in the region to stargaze, due to how dark the skies get here from low light pollution. Day passes to the park can be reserved up to 30 days in advance, and they cost $8 for those 13 and up. Everyone else younger than that gains free entry.
