Visit the one and only historic Alamo.
The Alamo is considered to be the heart of Texas. Life on the Alamo shaped the life and culture of Texas and is a popular destination for tourists. Visitors can participate in guided tours with trained historians. Self-guided tours and audio tours are also available. Explore historic buildings, the fortress, the church, and the grounds. Experience exhibits and hears the stories about the revolution and the battle of the Alamo. You will get to see historical artifacts, soldiers and missionaries statues, and more.
This attraction is open daily; peak season hours (May through September) are from 9 am to 7 pm. Off seasons hours from 9 am to 5 pm. Some of the individual building hours may be different than the hours listed above. Parking is available throughout downtown San Antonio. Outside food and drink are not permitted in the buildings. Refreshments are allowed on the grounds and available to purchase at gift shops and vending machines. Visiting the Alamo requires walking, so be prepared with comfortable shoes, umbrellas, hats, and sunscreen upon arrival. Trained service animals are allowed, but no pets. Feel free to ask the staff about anything you may need.
