Set foot in actual dinosaur footprints in the Paluxy River.
This is a unique state park featuring actual dinosaur footprints and life-sized dinosaur replicas that everyone can enjoy. The visibility of these ancient footprints may vary due to precipitation in the area. Besides the neat dinosaur features, visitors are welcome to outdoor recreation such as camping, hiking, mountain biking, swimming, canoeing, fishing, geocaching, and horseback riding. There are 100 acres of land in this state park, so there is plenty of space to explore.
If you like hiking, this state park has 20 miles of trails to enjoy. Be sure to stop by the interpretive center and ask for a birding kit that includes binoculars and a reference guide for your wildlife observation enjoyment. Guided horseback riding tours are available here through the Eagle Eye Ranch Carriage Company. This park is a short drive from Fort Worth, Texas. Feel free to bring water and a picnic lunch with you, and come enjoy everything that Dinosaur Valley State Park has to offer!
