Visit America's oldest amusement park.
During the 1800s, Lake Compounce was a simple picnic park. It has evolved into a family-friendly amusement park with over 30 rollercoasters and an outdoor water park. There are several ticket options to choose from. The best deal is a 4-pack of tickets to enter the park on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. You can also get a 2-day discounted ticket that allows entrance to the park anytime through August 31. Children ages 3 and under do not need a ticket to enter.
You don't have to venture far to find food. Inside the park, there are several snack stations along with dining options like Johnny Rockets, pizza parlors, and burger joints. Snacks that are offered include churros, cotton candy, pretzels, dippin' dots, Dunkin' donuts, popcorn, ice cream, and more. During the Christmas season, Lake Compounce turns into a winter wonderland filled with lights and festive entertainment. Several kiddie rides are open (depending on the weather) on the weekends in the evenings until 9 pm. Children can also get their pictures taken with Santa Claus and build gingerbread houses during this time. Have a fun time at Bristol's Lake Compounce the next time you visit Connecticut.
