Connecticut's Old State House

Visit this historic statehouse where America's constitutional convention was held.

Connecticut's Old State House is located in the heart of downtown Hartford, just west of the Connecticut River. This building was Connecticut's state capitol from 1796 - 1878 and it was one of the first places added to the register of National Historic Landmarks. The old statehouse hosts seasonal events and offers guided public tours of the facility year-round. During your visit, you will learn about events from early American history and gain a deeper appreciation of the people who helped establish freedom for this nation.

See where history was made and explore the halls and rooms of this place with your friends and family. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 12 pm to 5 pm. Admission rates are $8 per adult, $4 for seniors (65+) and children (ages 6 - 17), and free for children ages 0 - 5. If you're touring through Connecticut, the old statehouse is not a place you want to miss.
