Visit the third largest rose garden in the USA.
The Elizabeth Park Rose Garden is located on the west side of Hartford, Connecticut. Theodore Wirth designed this immaculate garden during the late 1800s and early 1900s. It is one of the most photographed sites in Hartford and encompasses 2.5 acres of land featuring over 800 varieties of roses. The garden also has wide pathways that can accommodate large crowds. This place is a gem in Hartford, and many weddings and formal receptions are held here every year.
From mid-June to early July, many of the roses are at their peak blooming season; however, a lot of the flowers also continue to thrive until the fall. You can truly stop and smell the roses in this outdoor garden. If you're looking for a place to relax and take a breather from life, the Elizabeth Park Rose Garden in Hartford, Connecticut, is the perfect place to go. This place is open daily from sunrise to sunset, and admission is free. Leashed pets are welcome, and all visitors should be respectful and refrain from picking flowers or stepping inside the garden beds at all times.
