Visit Mark Twain's historic home in Hartford.
The Mark Twain House & Museum is located off of Interstate 84 in Hartford, Connecticut. American author Mark Twain lived in this home from 1874 to 1891, and this historic home is a national landmark in the United States. Some of his most well-known works were written while he lived in Connecticut, including The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.
Visitors are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance to take guided tours of this multi-level home. Tours begin at the Webster Bank Museum Center. Please be aware that the home has a lot of stairs and no elevator. This historic home and museum are open daily from 10 am to 4:30 pm. Admission pricing ranges from $13 to $23 per person and children ages 6 and under are free. They offer living history tours, ghost tours, CLUE tours, and holiday tours.
