Visit the world's largest truck stop museum off I-80 in eastern Iowa.
The Iowa 80 Trucking Museum has been around since 1965. It was established by Bill Moon and has been owned by the Moon family ever since. This museum features a vast collection of antique trucks, antique signs, vintage memorabilia, and a collection of restored antique gas pumps. Bill Moon had a love for his trucks and the trucking industry. The museum also has the REO Theatre where visitors can watch films about the featured trucks and learn more about trucking.
Regular hours for the Iowa 80 Trucking Museum are Wednesday through Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM and Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM. Admission is free (they welcome donations) and they have a cute gift shop and clean restrooms in the visitor center. Be sure to also come hungry and enjoy some pulled pork or other food items at Big Mama Burger. This is a wonderful tourist destination for everyone. Bring your friends and family to view the neat truck displays, and climb inside at least one of the semis to see the sleeper cabin.
