George Wyth State Park offers opportunities for boating, kayaking, fishing, swimming, camping, wind surfing, and hiking. Due to the large expanse of woodland, there are many varieties of wildlife for visitors to watch. Bird watchers have already observed over 200 different species. This park has also been designated as a National Urban Wildlife Sanctuary. George Wyth State Park has 69 camping units with modern showers, a trailer dump station, and restrooms. Children can get their energy out at the playground.
If you want to spend time on the water, be sure to stop by Fisher Lake. Fisher Lake is a 40 acre natural lake and an oxbow to the Cedar River that borders the park. They also have Alice Wyth Lake that only allows electric motors. Alice Wyth Lake offers 60 acres of space to go boating. The park features 5.5 miles of paved multi-purpose trails that are perfect for biking, in-line skating, and walking. For a more secluded hiking experience, they also have 6 miles of grass hiking trails. No matter the season, visitors of all ages can enjoy spending time at the George Wyth State Park.
