Walk around this lovely pet-friendly nature area.
The Grindstone Nature Area is located just south of the University of Missouri in Columbia. It is a leash-free area (except on Hinkson Creek Trail) where dogs and their owners can roam around. Grindstone Nature Area encompasses nearly 200 acres of land and features several miles of nature trails, a historic silo and spring house, multi-use trails, a picnic shelter, and space to relax on the grass.
This nature area is open daily from 6 am to 11 pm. Hinkson and Grindstone Creek cut through the park. The historic sites are on the southern end of the park and you can reach them by traveling along the natural surface trail near the parking lot. Grindstone Nature Area has lots of wildflowers and wildlife, making it a picturesque place for all to enjoy. If you want to take a break out in nature, visit Missouri's Grindstone Nature Area.
