Learn about the history of Arkansas at the Old State House.
The Old State House Museum is located on the banks of the Arkansas River in Little Rock, Arkansas. This is Arkansas's original state capitol building, and it became a museum in 1947. Many historical events occurred at this place, such as Arkansas becoming an official U.S. state. They have permanent and rotating exhibits at the Old State House. You will learn about Arkansas's governors and the state's political history during your visit.
Admission is always free; regular museum hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM and Sundays from 1 PM to 5 PM. Guests can either do a self-guided tour or join a 50-minute guided tour (which starts every hour on the hour, with the last one starting at 4 PM).
