See displays of incredible matchstick scale models of iconic buildings and various replicas.
Matchstick Marvels is located west of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It is a quirky museum full of scale models of things such as iconic buildings, warships, fictional things like Hogwarts, and even the International Space Station. Each matchstick display was put together by artist Pat Acton, who was born and raised near Rippey, Iowa. Acton has had an interest in working with wood since his childhood and his hobby has since become his full-time passion. Each matchstick marvel is carefully crafted and glued together by hand.
Admission is $5 per adult, $3 per child, and toddlers up to 4 years old can enter the museum for free. It is open seasonally from April 1 to November 30. Hours are 1 pm to 5 pm all week long and it is closed on Easter and Thanksgiving Day. This attraction in Iowa has been around since 1977 and there are over 70 creations on display. If you're looking for a unique museum to visit, Matchstick Marvels is a great place to visit.
