Venture through northern Minnesota's forests and witness a land of lakes that were formed by glaciers.
Voyageurs National Park is located in northern Minnesota near the Canadian border. It covers a vast region full of forests, waterways, and scenic lakes like the Rainy, Kabetogama, and Namakan. Hikers should venture to the Kettle Falls area, which has a dam and a red-roofed hotel dating back to the early 20th century. Another point of interest is the Ellsworth Rock Gardens, created by artist Jack Ellsworth. Here, you will see abstract sculptures on a terraced outcrop. Wildlife creatures that live in the area include moose, beavers, wolves, frogs, newts, and various bird and fish species.
This park was named after the French fur traders who were called voyageurs. Rent a boat and explore tall bluffs, rock gardens, bays, and historic buildings. You can even find your own private island! While there are several great RV parks and camping spots along the shores of the interconnected lakes, you won't regret renting a boat during your visit to get the full experience. Over 200,000 acres of land make up this park, so there will be plenty to see and do during your visit. See nature at its finest at Voyageurs National Park.
