The Hennepin History Museum is situated in the Whittier neighborhood of Minneapolis. It is located in a historic home that was built in 1919, known as the historic Christian Mansion on the east side of Washburn-Fair Oaks Park, and just a 3-minute walk from the Minneapolis Institute of Art. The museum holds a mixture of exhibits that rotate every 3 to 4 months. They also hold a variety of events, including Fireside Chats on historical topics, social events, and author talks. The museum's library has reference materials such as city directories, photos of houses and buildings, maps, atlases, genealogical resources, city history files, business histories, and other reference materials. Along with all that information, a professional archivist is on-site during library hours to help visitors with research.
The Hennepin History Museum is open Thursday and Friday from 10 am - 3 pm and Saturday from 10 am - 5 pm.
