The Jackson Street Roundhouse is a transportation museum that allows you to explore 50 historic train cars. Here, you have the chance to experience a genuine operating roundhouse turntable that is the last of its kind in the country. Visitors can witness the restoration of historic railway operating equipment plus see demonstrations in the forge! Train lovers of all ages enjoy the old train cars and pretending to be conductors, engineers, or passengers. They have train rides every Saturday no matter the weather - rain, snow, or shine. In the winter, visitors can enjoy the heated caboose. The museum has some special events such as Santa's Train Shop and on select Wednesdays, they host Tots & Trains from 10 am to 12 pm with a train-themed story time, a craft, and tot-friendly open play areas.
Jackson Street Roundhouse is open on Wednesdays with admission only, no ride, 10 am - 4 pm. The cost of admission is $11 for adults (16 - 61), $9 for seniors (62+) and children (5-15), $7 for toddlers (2-4), and infants under 2 years get in for free.
