Explore the great outdoors in southern Delaware.
Trap Pond State Park is located in southern Delaware. This area was used as an industrial logging site in the 1700s and it is home to a large forest of naturally occurring baldcypress trees. Trap Pond is ideal for canoeing and kayaking and features nearly nine miles of space to explore around the pond. The park offers rentals for row boats, canoes, kayaks, and paddleboats if guests don't have their own recreational equipment. If you want to extend your stay, you are welcome to book a campsite, RV site, cabin, or yurt.
Head to the Baldcypress Nature Center to learn about the local wildlife and see the interactive exhibits. Guided tours of the swamp and the historic 1800s church are also available for visitors who are interested. Trap Pond State Park is also perfect for a daytime outing with friends and family. There are picnic tables, a disc golf course, volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, athletic fields, and a playground. No matter what kind of outdoor activity you want to do, Trap Pond State Park has a lot to offer.
