This expansive historical park offers visitors the opportunity to explore nearly 5 miles of lovely trails and the chance to see one of the only 18th-century buildings in the region.
Situated in Salisbury, Maryland, Pemberton Historical Park spans over 260 acres and offers a vast array of fun and educational activities for the whole family. The park was originally a plantation during the 18th century, and Pemberton Hall which was constructed then still stands. There is also an orchard on the grounds that includes species that would’ve been harvested in the early 1800s. The Hall was restored in the 1960s, and in the 80s the 260-acre park was established as a way to protect the historically significant structure.
There are 4.5 miles of lovely trails to explore that will guide you through various ecosystems like freshwater ponds, wetlands, hardwood forests, and peaceful meadows. You’ll have the opportunity to come across and learn all about the native plant and wildlife species that call this park home when you visit. Pemberton Historical Park makes for a perfect field trip destination for schools in the area and the park also hosts different events throughout the year, such as their food truck and concert Fridays throughout May.
