Auburn Valley State Park is located near the state border of Delaware and Pennsylvania. It features a historic mansion, paper mill, farm, and museum, highlighting the area's industrial history. The Auburn Heights Mansion dates back to 1897 and features Queen Ann architecture. Learn about the Marshall family and see this beautiful Victorian estate on a guided tour. The Marshall Steam Museum has the most extensive collection of vintage Stanley Steamer automobiles. If you'd like to explore the rest of the park, hike the Oversee Farm Trail. This trail is just over a mile long and leads you to a historic farm and barn. Red Clay Creek also runs through this state park, providing visitors with opportunities to go fishing for trout.
This Delaware State Park and its hiking trails are open daily from 8 AM to sunset; however, the estate grounds are only open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 3 PM. Admission rates to both the mansion and museum are $14 per person. If you're visiting the greater Philadelphia area, stop by Auburn Valley State Park.
