Just a short drive away from downtown Philadelphia is the stunning Ridley Creek State Park. The park has a scenic waterfall and over 2,600 acres of meadows, rolling hills, and beautiful babbling creeks. The park has 12 miles of hiking trails that take explorers through woodlands, and there is also a 5-mile paved multi-use trail that’s ideal for runners and bikers. When it snows, the multi-use trail is a favorite spot for cross country skiers!

Visitors can spend a day fly fishing for trout in Ridley Creek and follow it up with a delicious picnic at any of the 14 picnic tables around the park. Little ones will love running around on the playgrounds and fields throughout the park as well as searching for the different wildlife species that call this region home! Ridley Creek State Park is also home to the 300-year-old Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation, a living history site that was restored with nothing other than 18^th-century tools.
