Enjoy spending time in nature in the middle of Wilmington's suburban neighborhood.
Bellevue State Park is located off Interstate 95, just west of the Delaware River in northeastern Delaware. It features the DuPont family mansion, a fishing pond, picnic area, and running track. The DuPont mansion, known as Bellevue Hall, is centrally located and is great for hosting private events. William DuPont Jr. was the last owner of the estate and used to train racehorses. Today, the 1.125-mile track is used for runners and circles around the park.
Feel free to explore the hiking and biking trails during your visit. If you like playing tennis, the Bellevue Tennis Center has 8 clay tennis courts available to use. Guests can also bring their fishing gear and enjoy catching bass, catfish, and sunfish at the pond. Be aware that there is a catch and release policy, so fishing at the pond is strictly for leisurely purposes. There is also a disc golf course, horseshoe pits, playground, and picnic pavilion within the state park, making it a fun destination for anyone wanting to spend a day outside. It is open daily from 8 am to sunset.
