Tour this stunning French-style estate that features a large formal garden area.
Located in Northern Delaware, this 77-room mansion is a sight to behold. The garage holds an array of vintage cars, and outside the estate, you will find the biggest formal French gardens in North America. Nemours Estate was designed by the prestigious Carrere and Hastings architectural firm hired by a wealthy man named Alfred. Alfred took pleasure in showering his wife with gifts, and the gift of this gorgeous mansion topped them all. He named the estate after a French town that had connections to his second great-grandfather.
Take the long walk from the mansion to the reflection pool and be inspired by the gorgeous scenery of the formal garden. The one-acre reflection pool draws you in and features immaculate sculpture art. This pool takes 3-days to fill and holds up to 800,000 gallons of water. Guests can come to take a tour daily anytime between 10 am and 5 pm, except for Mondays. Be sure to wear good walking shoes; you'll be walking around for a while to take in this amazing estate. Picnic tables are not available; however, guests may bring their own food and drinks and set a blanket on the lawn to enjoy a meal after their tour.
