Tour the historic home of one of Delaware's Governors.
The Ross Mansion is a two-story Victorian Italianate-style historic mansion in southwestern Delaware. It is constructed out of white bricks and features a three-story tower in the middle of the home. This estate predates the American Civil War era and encompasses 20 acres. Along with the mansion, guests can see the granary, stable, smokehouse, log quarters, and cottage. Governor William Henry Harrison Ross was instrumental in helping bring the railroad to southern Delaware and was Governor of Delaware in the early 1850s.
Ross Mansion is open for guided tours every Saturday between 1 pm and 4 pm and the first two Sundays of the month during the same time. Tours last between one and two hours long. You can also call and schedule an appointment on a different day of the week. Free parking is available for both cars and RVs. If you're exploring southern Delaware, be sure to visit the Ross Mansion before you leave.
