Visit a historic battlefield in upstate New York.
Lake George Battlefield State Park is located off of Interstate 87, north of Albany, New York. This battlefield was used during both the French & Indian and Revolutionary War. It covers 35-acres and has the remains of old Fort George, an old field hospital, several statues, and interpretive signs to help visitors learn about the events that occurred on the battlefield.
This is a great place to enjoy a picnic. The park has several grills and picnic tables available on a first-come, first-served basis. Visitors can also play frisbee or stay awhile at their campground. Please note that pets are not allowed at this state park and a day-use fee is required for all visitors. If you love touring historical battlefields, be sure to stop by Lake George Battlefield State Park.
