John Boyd Thacher State Park is located west of Albany in Voorheesville, New York. It features panoramic views of the Hudson Valley and the Green Mountains. This is a perfect place to have a family picnic. It also has volleyball courts, playgrounds, and open fields so people of all ages can participate in recreational activities. Hiking is one of the most popular things to do here, and a highly rated hiking area is the Indian Ladder Trail. You can take a self-guided or guided tour of the Indian Ladder, or choose from any number of other hiking and mountain biking trails within the park.
