Step outside and enjoy the beauty of this New York nature preserve.
The Falling Waters Preserve is off of Highway 87 on the banks of the Hudson River in New York. It covers almost 150 acres of land and has waterfalls, meadows, and scenic natural features. This is an excellent place to be at one with nature and enjoy some fresh air. Within the preserve, you can also see the remains of an old ice house that could hold up to 10,000 tons of ice that was harvested from the river.
This nature preserve is open year-round from sunrise to sunset. There are no admission fees and it allows leashed pets. The longest trail is the Upland Trail, which follows the western edge of the preserve and features stunning views of the Catskills Mountains. Take the Riverside Trail to see the Hudson River and stop at a couple of scenic overlooks along the way. You won't be amiss to visit this peaceful place.
