Storm King Art Center

This outdoor art museum is one of the largest in the whole country!

The Storm King Art Center is a completely open-air museum in New Windsor, New York. This center is 500 acres and holds one of the biggest collections of contemporary outdoor sculptures in the entire country! This is a wonderful place to spend a day exploring the various exhibits when the weather is lovely. The surrounding meadows and hills make for the perfect landscape for complementing the wonderful art here. The installations are intriguing, thought-provoking, inspiring, and all-around remarkable.

Storm King has been open since 1960 and has always retained the mission to support a variety of artists with all sorts of styles and visions. The exhibits here change from time to time, and depending on the season you come, you’re bound to see something new and exciting. The installations here paired with the unique and truly gorgeous landscape create a one-of-a-kind experience that you won’t find at any other art museum. Storm King holds different events throughout the year, so be sure to check out their site for any upcoming ones you want to catch. The center is open from Wednesday to Monday from 10 – 5:30 with additional hours in the summertime. It’s required to purchase tickets ahead of time so be sure to do so before your visit! The Storm King Art Center is an outstanding place and certainly worth a visit if you’re in Upstate New York!
