Take a lovely hike to see this two-tiered waterfall that's one of the tallest in the state!
You can explore the beautiful Kaaterskill Falls in Hunter, New York, which is in the eastern portion of the Catskill Mountains. This is a two-tiered waterfall that pours down over 260 feet out of Spruce Creek. There are some relatively easy hikes that allow for great views of the falls. The Kaaterskill Falls II (upper trailhead) is the path you’ll prefer to take since others have been deemed a bit more unsafe due to the heights and slippery rocks – and definitely do not dare to wander off any of the trails around here. The upper trailhead has a wonderful viewing deck that provides an unmatched vantage point of the upper falls.
You won’t want to forget your camera when you venture out to see the splendor of Kaaterskill Falls! This is one of the tallest waterfalls in the state of New York and the region it’s in is truly stunning with its rolling mountains, dense trees, and captivating rock formations. You can easily spend a day out here strolling along the trail, admiring the falls, and relaxing with a picnic. If you really want to be wowed, be sure to make a visit in the height of fall so that you can see the area glowing in autumn hues.
