The Albany Pine Bush Preserve is located off of Interstate 90 in northwestern Albany, New York. It encompasses over 3,000 acres and has picturesque views of both the Catskill and Adirondack mountains. There are lots of wildlife creatures that call this place home, including deer, chipmunks, wild turkeys, woodpeckers, spotted turtles, monarch butterflies, the endangered Karner blue butterfly, and more.
Please note that leashed pets are allowed on the trails, but owners must clean up after their pets. Picnics are allowed outside the Discovery Center. Admission to the preserve and Discovery Center is free year-round. The center is open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 4 pm and on weekends from 10 am to 4 pm. There is a lot of biodiversity at this preserve, you will see thickets, forests, grasslands, ponds, and more.
