See historic New England homes dating back to the 19th century.
Historic Northampton is a museum located in Northampton, Massachusetts, two blocks away from the heart of downtown. Look for the large yellow building, designed and built by Isaac Damon. This home dates back to 1813 and is one of the main attractions at the museum. They have other historic properties on-site, including homes and an old barn, which they are working to restore. The Parsons home has two stories and features a brick chimney in the center of the house. The Shepherd house has box gardens in the backyard, where local school children plant, grow, and harvest vegetables.
This museum is open Wednesday through Saturday from 12 pm to 5 pm. There are no admission rates, but donations are always welcome. Parking is available behind the Shepherd Barn, and guests can follow the brick path to get to the museum entrance. Along with its historic buildings, Historic Northampton also offers guided walking tours of the area throughout the year. Head to their website to find the most current information. If you're planning to travel through western Massachusetts, don't hesitate to stop by Historic Northampton.
