Woodburn is a historical home in Dover, Delaware. It features Middle Period Georgian architecture and was built in 1798 by Charles Hillyard III. This historic home has changed owners quite a few times until it became the official residence of Delaware's Governor in 1965. To this day, Woodburn is still the residence of the Delaware Governor. During their tour, guests will see the great hall, parlor, dining room, and the home's exterior and gardens. There is also a wall full of portraits of many of the first ladies that lived in Woodburn.
The public is welcome to tour this fine home Monday through Friday between 8:30 am to 4 pm. Please note that an appointment is required, so call ahead to schedule a tour. Admission is free of charge for all ages. This beautiful mansion is a neat place to visit if you're a history buff.
