Visit the home of Almanzo Wilder, who was married to Laura Ingalls Wilder, the author of Little House on the Prairie.
The Almanzo Wilder Homestead, also referred to as the Boyhood Home of Almanzo Wilder, is a place that guests can come visit to learn the fascinating history tied to the home and surrounding land here. Located in Malone, New York, Almanzo Wilder’s father bought the property in 1840 and built the charming 2-story Greek Revival-inspired home here. The property eventually became Almanzo’s, and he married Laura Ingalls in 1885. Laura Ingalls Wilder was an author who is best known for her infamous Little House on the Prairie series.
Guests can come to the beautiful property and stroll through the museum in the visitor’s center to learn all about the life of the Wilder family. There are various replicas of homestead models that will surely intrigue visitors of all ages! There are guided tours throughout the day and admission to the site costs $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, $6 for youth (6-16), and free for children 5 and under.
