See a WWll era aircraft carrier.
The USS Lexington is the largest aircraft carrier ever used in military defense. Built during WWII, this was utilized by the U.S. military from 1943 to 1992. Its permanent resting place is in Corpus Christi, Texas. This tourist attraction offers tours and events, a 3D theater, an escape room, a Pearl Harbor Exhibit, a flight simulator, and virtual battle station gaming. The peak season is between Memorial Day and Labor Day weekend and its summer hours are from 9 am to 6 pm. General admission tickets include self-guided tours, the 3D mega theater, and exhibits. Currently, there are five self-guided tours, they cover over 100,000 square feet, and they all have interactive displays.
Guided tours include the Flight Deck tour, Foc’sle Tour, Gallery Deck Tour, Lower Deck Tour, and Hangar Deck Tour. The hangar deck and the flight deck are wheelchair accessible, along with the 3D theater, mess deck, ship store, and restrooms (located on the hangar deck). For an even more interactive experience, book a behind-the-scenes tour. These exclusive tours go through 15 different areas and last for about three to four hours. Be aware that the behind the scene tours will include steep ladders and dark, confined spaces. Good walking shoes and comfortable clothing is a must and they provide hard hats and a small flashlight for guests on that tour. If you've worked up an appetite, head to the Mess Deck Cafe, open daily from 10 am to 4 pm. The on-site cafe serves sandwiches, hot meals, snacks, and drinks.
