Visit the home of American civil rights leader Susan B. Anthony.
The Susan B. Anthony Museum & House is located off of Interstate 490 near the Rochester airport. This is the site where she was arrested in 1872 and it was the headquarters of the National Woman Suffrage Association when she was president of the association. Anthony's home features Italianate architecture and is a 12 room red brick house. She moved into the home in 1865, but it was first built in 1859. Susan B. Anthony died in this home on March 13, 1906, and it became a national historic landmark in the 1960s.
This historic home is open for guided tours Tuesday through Sunday. Each tour lasts 45 minutes and the highlight of the tour is on the first floor in the parlor of Anthony's home when she was arrested for voting. If you enjoy learning about American history, take a tour of Susan B. Anthony Museum & House when you get the chance.
