The Charlotte Genesee Lighthouse is located in northern Rochester, New York. It was built in 1822 and is the oldest surviving lighthouse near Lake Ontario. This historic landmark also features the original lighthouse keeper's house, a museum, a log cabin, a well, a blast furnace, and a shipping port. The Charlotte Genesee Lighthouse is open for tours from early May through October.
Admission is $5 per adult, $2 per child (ages 5 to 17), and children 4 and younger are free. They also have public picnic tables right outside and guests are welcome to eat at the tables during daylight hours before or after their lighthouse tour. Group tours (10+ people) must be booked at least two weeks in advance. Special tours outside of the regular season may also be arranged in advance.
