Visit this historical site dedicated to Augustus Saint-Gaudens, a renowned sculptor.
The Saint-Gaudens National Historical Park will tell you all about the life and work of Augustus Saint-Gaudens. He called Aspet his home in the late 1800s into the early 1900s. This estate and its natural surroundings inspired Augustus to create various masterpieces. Visitors are welcome to explore the galleries and admire some of his finest work. Several of the Saint-Gaudens bronze sculptures are on display throughout the estate.
Saint-Gaudens was a big fan of President Abraham Lincoln, and he made two separate sculptures in honor of him. Two trails wind throughout the estate grounds, encouraging visitors to take a stroll and soak in the natural beauty of the surrounding area. You can stop by the Visitor Center daily between 9 am and 4:30 pm while you're at it (open annually from late May through October 31). The park grounds, gardens, and trails are open daily from dawn to dusk.
