Enjoy the beautiful autumn leaves and explore this treasured part of Vermont.
Gifford Woods State Park is a lovely spot in Vermont that is a premier area to enjoy the autumn foliage. The Gifford Woods is quite dense and is home to various wildlife. This is a great place to go camping, and access to a portion of the Appalachian Trail is also available here. There are 21 tent and RV sites, 19 lean-to sites, and four cabins you can reserve if you want to extend your visit. Keep an eye out for porcupines, skunks, deer, and the occasional moose while you camp and hike through the area.
This state park is open seasonally from mid-May to mid-October. During the fall, bring your camera and capture all the vibrant yellow, red, and orange leaves. Native trees that thrive here include birch, maple, beech, and hemlock. The old-growth forest in this park is officially a National Natural Landmark. Anglers can expect to find largemouth bass, yellow perch, and rainbow trout in Kent Pond. The day-use areas feature picnic facilities nestled under the canopy of massive trees, which are open daily from 10 am to sunset. All can reconnect with nature at Gifford Woods State Park.
