The delightful park has two beaches on Lake Champlain, an "Earth Clock" made of 14 massive granite stones, and a 9-mile biking path.
Oakledge Park is a place that offers abundant peace and quiet in northeastern Vermont. Situated in Burlington on Lake Champlain, the largest lake in the state, Oakledge Park is 70 acres of natural beauty that allows visitors to clear their minds and take in the lovely waterfront views. The park has two beach areas called Blanchard Beach and Oakledge Cove, and there are tennis and volleyball courts, softball fields, a playground, and a couple of picnic shelters. There is also ample space around the park for a relaxing picnic in the grass overlooking the lake.
Families can spend sunny days enjoying the sandy beach, soaking in the sun, and cooling off in the refreshing water. During the summer months, stand up paddle boards can be rented for a fun activity, as well. The park has a lengthy system of walking and biking trails that allow visitors to explore the natural surroundings from a new perspective. Oakledge Park also has a couple of highlights – the "Forever Young Treehouse” and the intriguing Earth Clock, which is a sundial made of 14 granite stones.
