This mountain is part of a national forest and is one of the most popular ones to explore in the Blue Ridge Mountain Range.
Mount Pisgah is one of the most favored mountains to explore in the Appalachian Mountain Range in North Carolina. Located about an hour outside of Asheville and within Mount Pisgah National Forest, Mount Pisgah is an easily accessible destination if you’re traveling along the Blue Ridge Highway. There are various hiking trails available on and around the mountain as well as picnic areas, a campground, lodging, and a country store. It’s certainly a favorite spot among visitors who want to get outside and experience all that Appalachia has to offer.
The hike to the top of Mount Pisgah is a moderate-level 2.6-mile round trip. You’ll be met with spectacular views from the summit of the mountain, especially during sunrise and sunset. You’ll be able to see all the other incredible and popular mountains in the area, Cold Mountain being one of them. Mount Pisgah is a great place to look out for wildlife that calls this region home, especially if you love birdwatching. If you’re able to come during the autumn months, you’ll be met with phenomenal sights of warm and vibrant vegetation. If you don’t necessarily feel like hiking, it’s always a great idea to bring a picnic and let yourself relax and become immersed in the spectacular environment of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
