Visit the deepest natural lake in New Jersey.
Kittatinny Valley State Park is located off U.S. Highway 203 in northern New Jersey. It features four lakes, including Lake Aeroflex, New Jersey's deepest natural lake. Boating, kayaking, fishing, camping, hiking, and mountain biking are popular recreational activities here. Many of the trails you see today were once railroad lines during the late 1800s and early 1900s, and these hiking trails cover over 50 miles within the park. Mountain bikers are welcome to venture through the rugged terrain of Kittatinny Valley.
Wildlife such as deer, wild turkeys, beavers, squirrels, and various songbirds frequent the area, so bring your binoculars to get a closer view of these creatures. Be sure to explore the Butterfly and Hummingbird Garden if you have time to spare. This state park is open year-round from 8 AM to 8 PM. There is no entrance fee to visit the park, and the park office is open daily from 9 AM to 4 PM. Leashed pets are allowed, but owners must clean up after them. If you're looking for a neat place to camp, hike, or kayak, consider visiting Kittatinny Valley State Park.
