Hike through the forests and take photos of beautiful waterfalls at this neat place.
The Delaware Water Gap is located in northeastern Pennsylvania and crosses over into northwestern New Jersey. It is home to several waterfalls, including Raymondskill Falls, the tallest waterfall in Pennsylvania. On the New Jersey side, you can see Buttermilk Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls in the state. Swimming is allowed at Milford Beach, Smithfield Beach, and Turtle Beach, but no lifeguards are on duty. Bring a buddy with you and always wear a life jacket if you choose to swim here. Anglers with the proper fishing licenses and permits are welcome to catch fish along the Delaware River. Common fish you will find are bass, catfish, walleye, and white suckers.
This park is open 24/7, except in the day-use areas, which are available from sunrise to sunset daily. Please note that cell service is limited here, except at the park entrances. Some roads close during the winter, but most of this recreation area is open year-round. Leashed dogs are permitted in most areas, but there are several exceptions, such as Raymondskill Falls, Hidden Lake, Turtle Beach, and Kittatinny Point. If you love the great outdoors, this is a fun place to visit with friends and family.
