Spend time on the unique horseshoe-shaped lake at this state park in northeastern Pennsylvania.
Frances Slocum State Park is located in northeastern Pennsylvania, just north of the Susquehanna River. It encompasses 1,035 acres and many visitors are drawn to the park for boating and fishing on the lake in the summer and fall. During the winter, visitors can enjoy ice fishing, ice skating, snowmobiling, and sledding. The park currently has 100 campsites, many of which can accommodate trailers. As of February 2022, there are no water or sewer hookups available, but some sites have electrical hookups. There are some pet-friendly campsites at Stony Point, Hemlock Hill, and Rocky Knoll.
This is an ideal area to enjoy a picnic. If you have a large group, there are rentable pavilions available. All of the picnic areas have tables, grills, and restroom access. If you need a place to cool off, the public pool is open seasonally and has a separate fee to enter. Frances Slocum State Park is open daily from sunrise to sunset year-round.
