Bowman Lake State Park is a secluded area in Oxford, New York. It encompasses nearly 1,000 acres and features a sandy lakefront with several picnic areas nearby. There are over 100 bird species that have been spotted here, making it an excellent spot for bird watching. Other popular outdoor activities include biking, boating, disc golfing, fishing, hiking, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing.
Bowman Lake State Park is open daily from dawn to dusk. Don't forget to visit the nature center before you leave, or book an extended stay if you need extra time to explore the area. Campsites start at $15 per night, and the rustic cabins (no electricity or running water) begin at $45 per night and can house between four and six people. Camping season runs annually from the end of May through early October. If you're an outdoor lover, add this place to your upstate New York itinerary.
