Visit the "Central Park" of upstate New York.
Onondaga Lake Park is located just north of Syracuse, New York. It has over eight miles of green space that are perfect for playing and picnicking. With both a skate park and dog park, this place can accommodate all sorts of visitors, including little ones that want to use the playground area. You can find the playground at the southern end of the park known as Wegman's Landing. Over half of the playground is ADA accessible, so even persons with disabilities can have a fun time here.
Feel free to go boating on Onondaga Lake while you're here. This park has a paved public boat launch that operates daily from sunrise to sunset from mid-April through October. Onondaga Lake Park is also a wonderful place for biking, running, and dog walking. It has four trails to choose from, the longest one being the West Shore Trail that follows along the edge of the lake.
